SCIENCE AWARENESS THROUGH TV CHANNELS



Aim of the Project: 

The over all aim of the project is creation of awareness and interest in science and technology through multimedia, specially the TV, leading to socio-economic development and better quality of life in Pakistan. TV is the most powerful media in today’s world and can be effectively used for promotion of S&T.

Objectives of the Project

1.   Dissemination of scientific information through T.V Channels to key stakeholder, i.e., students,
      scientists,/researchers, industrialists/businessmen, community, politicians and opinion leaders to
      motivate them to join in national socio-economic development activities.
2.   Publicize basic and applied scientific concepts using film, video clips and documentaries.
3.   Organize panel discussions on various national issues of Science and Technology with inputs from
      multi sector panelists.
4.   Reinforce panel discussion on T.V with telephonic and e-mail participation of general public.
5.   Produce documentaries in local languages on various popular Science and Technology Themes.
6.   Stimulate the sense of enquiry on S&T in common masses.
7. Enhance the capacity of scientists & researchers for presenting their point of view through Mass
      media.

 Programmes of the Project 

Programme No.1

Acquisition, translation, dubbing and airing of S&T films and documentaries on important aspects of science and technology. 

Programme No. 2

Production of S&T Films and Documentaries on important S&T issues and their possible solutions for the economic development of the country.

Programme No. 3

Panel Discussion on TV involving scientists and eminent scholars for clarification of scientific concepts and technological issues.

Workshops of Scientists and Media Practitioners for popularization of Science through Mass Media
