Islamabad, July 23, 2026 — The Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre (PASTIC) successfully concluded its 59th Data Analytics with SPSS Training Program, organized under the theme “Research Tools & Techniques: Data Analysis Using SPSS” from 22–23 July 2026 at the PASTIC National Centre, Islamabad.

The two-day training program brought together 39 participants from leading universities, research organizations, and public sector institutions across Pakistan. The participating organizations included Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU), Foundation University, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), Islamic International Medical & Dental College, the University of Peshawar, and the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA).

The program was designed to enhance participants’ knowledge and practical skills in data analysis and the application of statistical tools in research. The training covered the data analytics pipeline, including an introduction to data and its various types, preparation of research data sheets, and essential data preprocessing techniques.

Participants received practical training in data transformation through recoding and compute functions, missing value analysis, and other data preparation methods required for reliable and meaningful statistical analysis. The interactive lectures and hands-on exercises enabled participants to develop practical skills for preparing datasets and applying appropriate analytical techniques in research.

The concluding sessions focused on descriptive and inferential statistics, supported by extensive practical exercises and interactive learning activities. Participants applied statistical concepts using SPSS in practical research scenarios, thereby strengthening their ability to analyze and interpret data for evidence-based research and informed decision-making.

A concluding ceremony was held at the PASTIC National Centre, during which certificates were distributed to the participants in recognition of their successful completion of the training program.

Speaking on the occasion, PASTIC reiterated its commitment to strengthening research capacity and promoting the effective use of modern analytical tools among researchers, students, academics, and professionals. Through its regular training and capacity-building programs, PASTIC continues to contribute towards the development of a stronger research ecosystem and the promotion of evidence-based and data-driven decision-making in Pakistan.
